Routiny

concept / UX / UI

This little app lets young parents share their baby’s schedule with a network of caretakers. Babies tend to follow a meticulous routine: sleeping, eating, bathing, there’s a set time for everything. Keeping a solid routine helps to avoid stress and contributes to a healthy sleep/wake rhythm. It can be a challenge for working parents to maintain such routines when their babies spend days with other people: grandparents, aunties or other babysitters.

What time is the bottle? How many millimeters? Routiny helps to get everyone on the same page about the baby’s schedule and development, so parents can go to work with peace of mind.

Color palette
The colors had to be cozy and friendly but not overly girly.

App icon
We wanted an app icon that was both cute and gender neutral, so we chose this happy yellow bundle.

Editing the schedule
The daily schedule should be easy to edit as the app tries to reduce time issues, not contribute to more tedious work. So we created a grid schedule that parents can intuitively alter by tapping the slots.

Product placement
Based on the baby’s development phase particular products can be marketed towards parents and caregivers. In the 4th month for example a baby can benefit a lot from so-called activity centers.
